Saffron is one of the most famous and finest traditional Iranian products that is exported in very large quantities annually. This product comes in various types, with the best kind being Sargol saffron.

Why Sargol Saffron? Is There a Difference?

This type of saffron is one of the most common and widely used types of saffron. Most consumers and customers are more familiar with this type of saffron and choose to buy it because it is relatively inexpensive. In this type or model of saffron, there is no yellow part or root of saffron, and the color potency of this type of saffron is very high.

This type of saffron is nowadays known as Sargol saffron or commonly referred to as Sargol Saffron in Iran's standard terminology, it is called Cut Filament Saffron. In English, it is referred to as "All Red," and in standard Latin terminology, it is called "Saffron in Cut Filament," similar to the saffron referred to as "Coupe" (cut or trimmed).

How to Identify High-Quality Sargol Saffron?

Identifying premium and high-quality Sargol saffron is not easy for everyone. The coloring power of this type of saffron ranges from 210 to 260 units, and the coloring capability of this product is very suitable. Saffron should be kept away from direct sunlight and stored in a cool, dry place. To make the best use of saffron, grind it and then place it in the freezer to maintain its coloring power. As seen in the image below, Sargol saffron refers to the uppermost part, which is free from any impurities and provides a very pleasant aroma and coloring.
